The DIY Face Mask For Lazy Girls - BON MAXIE

The DIY Face Mask For Lazy Girls

We’re the laziest of lazy girls. Always have been, and always will be. It’s why Clare has designed so many lazy-girl-friendly bags and organisation accessories – because we’re passionate about stay lazy.

Today we’re sharing our ultimate at-home DIY face mask. It contains ingredients you likely already have at home (no fancy-schmancy random herbs here) or can quickly grab at the supermarket on your next visit.

3-Ingredient DIY Face Mask

Note: This recipe will provide you with enough mixture for one mask. Double the recipe for two masks (etc, etc).

Ingredients

  • ½ ripe avocado (yes, it can be brown)
  • 2 tbsp plain yoghurt (Greek or plan are ideal, but you can use vanilla if that’s all you have on hand)
  • 1 tbsp honey

Method

  1. Scoop out the flesh of the avo and mash it in a bowl. Try and ensure the texture is as lump-free as possible.

  2. Add the yoghurt and honey to the avo and mix it in until smooth.

  3. Apply the mask to clean, dry skin. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes.

  4. After those 15-20 minutes, wash the mask off your skin using lukewarm water and a gentle face cloth.

  5. Then, gently pat your face dry with a dry face towel. You can then apply your own moisturiser if that’s your vibe.

And that’s it. That’s literally it.

A few notes on this recipe:

  • You can totally pre-make the face mask and leave it in the fridge for a more cooling version of this 3-ingredient mask. It’s super nice on a hot summer’s day – trust us on that.

  • If you’re feeling a little risqué and are keen on having a little fun with your DIY face mask, you could add in ingredients like lemon juice (for brightening), oatmeal (for exfoliation) or aloe vera (for calming). But we’re super lazy, so we generally just stick to avocado, yoghurt and honey.

We love making this mask on a Friday night or a Sunday arvo – it’s ideal for long baths, spending afternoons on the couch (binge-watching your favourite TV shows or getting stuck into a good book), or when hanging out with your bestie who might need a little lazy-gal self care.
